On November 4, 2016, two good friends of my mine solidified their love with vows and sealed it with a kiss in front of all of their closest friends and family. I had the honour of being in that room and witnessing their love as the second shooter to my very first wedding (I already wrote about the many lessons I learned that day). I owe a huge thank you to my dear friend Annie, the first shooter (from Knight Media) and close friend of the bride and groom, for giving me this opportunity and inviting me to learn from her.
I had an absolute blast photographing these two, their bridal party, and their friends and family. Not only was it a super challenging and overwhelming experience, I got a whole bunch of shots that I’m super proud of. I’m going to share a few of my favourites with you.
Why not start from the top, the bride and her ladies getting ready, and work our way down to the first dance.
I had a few minutes to shoot photos of the girls as they got all dolled up for the big day.
I sped over to the groom’s sister’s house to get a few shots of the groomsmen getting ready.
Then everyone hopped into the sexy black chariot over to the clubhouse (the bride + groom’s humble abode) for the reveal – the first look at the beautiful bride in her delicate dress. Just wait ’til you see the groom’s face…
From there we went to take some shots of the bridal party before the family gathers to witness the ceremony.
And off we went to the ceremony! It’s time for these two love birds to finally say “I do.”
Now that the love birds are officially newlyweds, it’s time for some ring shots. Before the guests got a little sloppy in the company of friends, family, and the newlyweds on the dance floor, I got a shot of the bride peeking at me from behind the groom during their first dance as Mr. + Mrs. Davis.
It was my absolute pleasure to photograph these two alongside my good friend Annie Knight. It was an unbelievable experience. A great way to start off my wedding photography career.
Thank you and congratulations to Mr. + Mrs. Davis for finding love, at last.
